It's only "sorta" cold here. I wouldn't call it the "hawk." It's gotta be colder than this to be the hawk. This won't knock us out of zone 4 for gardening. The river is frozen over in most places. They were discussing ice fishing on Wis. Public Radio this morning. One person had to ask where does one relieve oneself if they have to go, out there on the ice? "Cyclone bomb" or "bomb cyclone" is another new expression on weather reports these days. New to me anyway. We've only got about half an inch of snow on the ground, total, here. January thaw is over for now. Coffee.

I wonder if Flash Freeze means conditions are right for "black ice". I thought our newscaster said "Squeeze Freeze", but I do not always get the sounds right since our tv speakers are squeezed in the tv tower with shelves & stereo.

The thaw brought water. Nothing as severe as the west coast.

It appears water is shooting out the ground here.. Long lost springs are popping up. Scary to think this is not the January thaw.

I've been using my cotton field logic all day long.Irrigate here, irrigate there. Water has to go somewhere... but you better get every last use of it before you drink it. Catch a rabbit and make hossenfeffer. Run a boil. Potatoes too. Celery .Thats lunch.

The people that don't visit KL, would never understand us. I think we're a pretty durable bunch. I'll never understand them.

I think we care about folks. If we can't help physically, we try to help mentally.

Of course you need to take in the source of the info, we may feel like pros, I may speak for myself, I'm no pro.

Everything is still frozen, when water lets a loose it is hard to tell where it will go.

Black ice is one of the worst conditions you ever will encounter. You gotta keep moving, but you don't want to go to fast. If your not used to it... you should stay put. Call home and tag base.

edit: stat to stay. Next to last sentence.
