I'm happy to say I don't even know what a 'chigger' is. I'm not gonna search it.

Ya'll get them deer flies? Or Horseflies? You can hear them coming at ya. They take a hunk out of you quick.

Not the stuff you find on the shelves. You have to search around and find the pump style bottles of Off. Use a little, than add deet that you find at a Army/Navy store. Doesn't take much out of that little green squeeze bottle and it is hazardous to your health, but sometimes decisions need to be made, get bit by infested who knows what, or monitor your health. Malaria, EEE. I'll take my chances on the juice. Just use it sparingly. Try to use it on your clothing instead of your skin. Sometimes you gotta put it on your skin.

sid i like this board, when i found it i was looking for a forum for folks that could give advice on stuff that happens or might happen out in the country, how to deal with stuff etc.....for the most part i think this place fits that bill, one of the things that i was looking for was advice on what to do about dogs that were abandoned and found their way to your house, OR neighbors who didnt rightly take care of watching their dogs and let them just visit and po0p in your yard lol,,,,but may many many other things as well....i think this place is great

you know, for whatever reason, being too busy maybe (or thinking i was too busy) i never really thought too much about going to the farmstead as often as i like to go now. it's well over an hour away, for one, maybe that was it. or maybe that i have 3 kids and have been completely wrapped up in all their activities. (not gonna apologize for that for sure). but now, i cant wait to get back here each week. i hadn't been for 3 weeks, and snuck away to check in on the place. im proud that i have been improving the paths ha...anyhoo, i have grand plans to interconnect the farm with a series of paths, some old some new---cant wait for new adventures

The path that got me here required the most work i did, its not a lot of work but when you are just doing a little at a time it takes a few weekends to get'er done
