Casinos

Postby mowmud » Fri Aug 07, 2020 3:27 am

A recent post got me to wondering. I've never been to a casino in my life. Does not mean I ain't a gambler. Anybody remember playing jax, marbles, or nickels? They are all separate games.

That is lull time gambling. That is fun. On the other hand, you have real life gambling.

In a yelling voice, Hey! Is that cable gonna snap?
'ditto yelling voice' Something don't look right.
It can't be that deep can it?
Which way is it supposed to fall?

Nickels was my favorite.

I do not gamble either. I have been to turning stone once and been to De Lago a couple of times.
You know those commercials where they have all the shiny sexy babes, the smooth suave gentleman dressed to the nines?
I have never seen that. What I see is probably one of the saddest sight I have ever experienced.
Hundreds of mostly poorly dressed senior citizens, staring into a screen pumping dollar after dollar of probably their Social Security check into the machine.
I have never seen any joy, hilarity, or good coming from the place.
I will admit that I have not been often of probably at the right hours to see the shiney people, but I do wonder if they exist..

You are 100% correct. I finally made a trip back to Vegas a couple of years ago. (had goon there in the 70's). Things have definitely changed. No more coins pouring out of slot machines, automated roulette wheel under a plastic bubble. (nobody to flip the little ball).
computerized games of blackjack. :(
What few people that were there, just kept shoving dollar bills into machines.
Wife tried the slots and after watching 20 dollars disappear into the slot, we left with our winnings. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Plus... what happened to having inexpensive meals? How about $8 for a slice of pizza. :o Nope, Nope, won't be hitting any casino's in the near future.
The Winnings.
