That is a difficult question to answer. I like pie.

Some days my favorite is Pumpkin, other days it might be Cherry, or Peach.
But then I also really like Shoo-Fly pie and Lemon Meringue.
But then I remember Blueberry Pie and sometimes that's my favorite too. ;)

Just too many great pies for me to choose only one. 8-)

#1 would be Dutch Apple Pie right out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Until the 'derecho', we had apple trees that were older than me, but now we have to buy apples.
#2 would be Pecan Pie. Doctor claims I'm 'obese', lol

I have had to bake my own pies for decades. For some reason, my wife has refused to bake pies ever since I sort of mentioned in passing that her crusts could use some work :o !

I'm an incorrigible pie fan and like to use my own home-raised filling ingredients -- mulberries are my favorite, but also raspberries, rhubarb, strawberries, cherries (before both of my trees died), apples on occasion. I've even tried gooseberries and elderberries and choke cherries. I like a crust made with a good bunch of sugar to make it sweet; I brush melted butter on the crust and sprinkle it with sugar before baking. With the tmperature today too cold to enjoy outside work, maybe I'll dig into the freezer for some mulberries or rhubarb. :)

I recently discovered buttermilk pie, and it is now my favorite. But I do love many others, and I’m surprised nobody mentioned peach pie!

You know, when I think about it, I'm not really a pie guy. I like the ones that come in a little box that fits in a lunch sack. I like cherry cheesecake, but that ain't pie.
I make a thing called Orange Salad. I named it. It consists of cottage cheese, cool whip , assorted fruits and a couple boxes of jello. You can make it for any number of folks. Just gotta maintain ratios or its liable to get soupy on you. 1 and a 1/2 tubs of cottage cheese to 1 tub of cool whip, if you use fruit cocktail out of the can, make sure you drain it. I like to add mandarin orange slices in it. Depending on what fruits you use, you may have to adjust cottage cheese and cool whip. Put it in the fridge.

There is a lime green version too. Called watergate salad. That one includes walnuts. Basically the same, just different color jello.

I had never heard of fried pies despite being a pie addict. So I did a search and found tons of recipes for fried pies with all sorts of fillings. They look much quicker than regular pies -- none of that waiting 45 minutes or an hour for the pie to bake. Just submerge it in hot oil for a few minutes and it's ready to burn your mouth. Gotta try one soon :D .
