Walmart bags

Postby Doris~GC » Wed Jun 09, 2021 11:58 am

I just read in the news that Walmart was going bagless July 1st. If you want to bag items you will need
to bring your own.

It said you could bring your own tubbs to put things in if you chose to.

That is the first I had heard, but oh well we all will adjust!

Everyone take care and be safe out there.

I have not heard that, If that is true, they should give discounts on groceries...

New York State banned single use plastic bags a couple of years or so ago. At first I was not a fan, how ever, it is amazing how they are no longer hanging in the hedgerows or on fences or trees, when you see a white blob in a tree it may actually be a Snowy Owl instead of a Wal Mart bag.
Takes a bit of adjustment, but over all a nonissue. Wal-Mart charges you 10 cents for paper bags. Biggest problem I have is remembering to put the bags back in the truck for next time.
They still have the produce bags and bags for your meat if you ask.
Another downside is that we no longer have liners for our small bathroom and bedroom trash cans.
Reusables are about a buck apiece,I have never had one tear on me.
You will have to train (if he or she is younger) the cashier on how to bag your groceries.

After I saw the first article which stated that all Walmarts were going bagless. The second article I read a few hours later stated
only Maine.

I stand corrected! Sorry about that, I really did see two different articles.
