First heard this on a folk music program on Wisconsin Public Radio. It is a relatively long (almost 9 minutes) ballad about the Civil War.

The link didn't work. So, if you would like to listen to the song, you would need to "Google" PUB TALK, Jack Hardy,"The 111th Pennsylvania." It is possible to find the song :) Mark.

Wish I could hear it but the sound is awful on this computer. Not loud enough for me to understand, and constantly starting and stopping. Bummer. gg

I'm sorry you couldn't hear it, gg. I must have heard the song first back in the 1990s, on the radio. After I found out who the artist was, I have listened to it about every three or four months since then. It is quite haunting, I'd say. Mark.
